Prof Walter Tan Tiang Lee

Prof Walter Tan is a Consultant General and Plastic Surgeon and Medical Director of Raffles Hospital. His areas of specialty are head and neck surgery, general breast and breast cancer surgery, including breast reconstructive surgery, aesthetic surgery and laser surgery, and facial rejuvenation (IPL, Q Switch Nd-YAG Laser, Botox and facial fillers).

Prof Tan was a member of the teams that separated the conjoined Ischiopagus Twins and conjoined Korea Twins at Raffles Hospital in 2003.

Prof Tan is an Adjunct Professor of Surgery at the National University of Singapore and the Immediate Past Master of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. He has also been Chief Examiner in Surgery of the Faculty of Medicine at the National University of Singapore, Examiner in Surgery for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK; and Examiner in Surgery for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan. Prof Tan is also Singapore’s National Representative for the International Confederation for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (IPRAS) and International Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS).


A/Prof Wong Soon Tee

A/Prof Wong is a Consultant Dermatologist and Physician. His areas of specialty are minimally invasive facial rejuvenation treatments of photoaged and facial pigmentation; skin cancer surgery and minor aesthetic skin surgery. Besides these, he also sees patients with general dermatological problems like psoriasis, acne, eczema, urticaria, keloid, viral warts, hair and nail disorders and drug allergy.

A/Prof Wong is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Medicine in the National University of Singapore and a Visiting Consultant at the Department of Medicine, National University Hospital. He was awarded the 1998 Commonwealth Fellowship by the Association of Commonwealth Universities (UK) and 2 Research Grants in Molecular Genetic Research in psoriasis and keloid between 2001 and 2003.

A/Prof. Adrian Yap is a Consultant Prosthodontist at Raffles Hospital and the Clinical Director of Raffles Dental. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor in Restorative Dentistry at the National University of Singapore. His areas of specialty include Restorative (implants, crowns, veneers etc.), TMJ (jaw/facial pain and dysfunction) and Sleep (bruxism, snoring, sleep apnea) Dentistry. In addition to his basic and specialist dental training, he also holds a PhD in material science and Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy.

A/Prof. Yap has been honored with many teaching, research, academic and clinical awards including the prestigious 3M Dental Postgraduate Prize from the Institute of Dental Surgery, London. He has authored more than 150 referred journal articles, 300 conference/seminar papers and several book chapters. A/Prof. Yap serves in the editorial board of a number of journals including the American Journal of Dentistry (USA) and Practical Procedures & Aesthetic Dentistry (USA). He is a sort-after speaker who has lectured and conducted numerous courses on TMJ/Sleep Dentistry both locally and internationally.

A/Prof Yap is a charter member of the RDC/TMD International, a consortium created to foster collaborative international TMD (Temporomandibular Disorders) research and a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore and Academy of Dental Materials (USA). He is also a Member of the Asian Academy of Craniomandibular Disorders and Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (USA).


Dr Chris Foo

Dr Chris Foo is a Consultant Dermatologist. His special interests include hair and nail conditions such as alopecia areata, scarring alopecia and androgenetic alopecia; and cosmetic dermatology inclusive of cutaneous laser surgery for pigment/tattoo removal, hair removal, facial rejuvenation, botox, fillers electrocautery for seborrhoeic keratosis/sebaceous hyperplasia/skin tags as well as minor skin surgery for moles/tumours. Besides these, he covers all aspects of general dermatology including eczema, psoriasis, acne, urticaria, vitiligo, immunobullous disorders, skin cancer screening and sexually transmitted diseases.

Dr Foo was formerly a dermatologist at the National Skin Centre and a clinical tutor for the National University of Singapore. He is currently a Visiting Consultant at the Department of Dermatology, Singapore General Hospital.

Dr Andrew Aw is a visiting Consultant Orthodontist Raffles Dental. He gained his accreditation under the Calman system in the UK and was formerly a Consultant Orthodontist in the NHS and lead orthodontist for the regional orthognathic programme.

Dr Aw retains a Visiting Lecturer appointment at the School of Dental Sciences, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, where he is an examiner for the Final BDS examination. He is an examiner for the Intercollegiate MFDS examination of the UK Royal Surgical Colleges and Chairman of the Regional Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, which he co-founded in 1995.

He is a Visiting Consultant at KK Women's and Children's Hospital. His sub-specialty interests lie in the joint management of craniofacial anomalies, cleft lip and palate, and orthognathic surgery.

Dr Wong Seng Weng

Dr Wong Seng Weng is a Consultant Medical Oncologist. He obtained his basic medical degree from NUS in 1996 under the Lim Boon Keng and Tan Siak Kew Scholarships. Dr Wong's academic performance placed him on the Dean's list for consecutive years since the inauguration of the award. He obtained his MRCP (UK) in 1999 and was admitted as Fellow of the Academy of Medicine in 2004.

Dr Wong was a clinical tutor of the clinical faculty of NUS and was keenly involved as an investigator in many clinical trials exploring novel methods of cancer treatment. Through his appointment with NUS, he made contribution in both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.

Dr Veronica Toh is a Consultant Neonatologist and Paediatrician. Apart from general paediatrics, her interests are in neonatal intensive care, especially prematurity, neonatal neurological disorders, neonatal encephalopathy, hydrocephalus, intracranial haemorrhages, developmental follow-up, cranial ultrasonography, MRI and cerebal hypothermia. Dr Toh is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Paediatrics) (UK).

Dr Tan graduated from Leicester Medical School, England. He has worked in the paediatric department at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and in the paediatric respiratory/cardiology department at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London.

After returning to Singapore, Dr Tan completed his specialist training in paediatrics and was a consultant neonatologist at KK Women and Children's Hospital. Dr Stephen Lee Teck Soong

Dr Stephen Teck Soong Lee has been practicing ENT surgery since 1984. He was an Associate Professor and Consultant ENT Surgeon in the University of Malaya from 1990 till 1993. Dr Lee had held training and research positions in Glasgow and University of Tokyo. He has published more than 20 articles locally and internationally and has authored 3 textbooks. From 1993 to 1995, Dr Lee was appointed Visiting Fellow and subsequently Visiting Consultant to NUS. Since 1995, he has been practicing with the Raffles Medical Group and currently is Senior Partner in the ENT Department at the Raffles Hospital.

Dr Lee's subspecialty interests are in the surgical treatment of sinus and nasal disease including ballon sinuplasty surgery, surgical management of snoring and sleep apnea, childhood ENT disease, and diagnosis and management of allergic conditions.

Dr Khoo is also a clinical teacher at the National University of Singapore and an examiner in the postgraduate ophthalmology examinations for the fellowship degrees in Edinburgh and Singapore. Dr Lee Jong Jian is a Consultant Ophthalmologist. His area of professional expertise includes retinal and macular eye conditions, cataract, myopia control and related problems, refractive eye conditions, glaucoma, eye trauma, complex eye diseases and general ophthalmology. Dr Lee is the first retinal eye surgeon who pioneered the most advanced 23 Gauge minimally invasive retinal eye surgery in Asia. He was honoured by the renowned Dutch Ophthalmic Research Center for successfully completing the first 100 cases of retinal eye surgeries in Asia using this technique in 2006.

Dr Lee underwent his retinal fellowship in world-renowned eye centres in United States and United Kingdom. He is a member of the prestigious American Society of the Retinal Specialists, a member of the regional vitreo-retinal advisory committee and a clinical tutor to National University of Singapore.

Dr Sheila Loh is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Reproductive Medicine Specialist. Her special interest is in infertility and assisted reproductive techniques. She is the Clinical Director of Raffles Fertility Centre, which provides a comprehensive range of fertility services including fertility investigations, laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, ovulation induction, superovulation and intrauterine insemination, in-vitro fertilisation, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, embryo and gamete cryopreservation.

Dr Loh is also the Chairperson of the Reproductive Medicine Section, College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists in UK.

Prof Lim Yean Leng is Raffles Heart Centre Director and Interventional Cardiologist. Prof Lim is also the Professor & Director of the Centre for Cardiovascular Therapeutics, Western Health, University of Melbourne; and Honorary Professor of Medicine at Monash University in Australia. He holds numerous professorships in China including Peking University, Shanghai Second Medical University, Dalian Medical University, Liaoning Medical University at Shenyang and 4th Military Medical University at Xian, and was Foundation Dean of Xiamen University Medical College.

As a world-renowned interventional cardiologist, he has contributed much to the development of medicine and cardiology in Australia, Singapore and China, and was honoured with membership of the Order of Australia for his contributions in Education and Medicine in 1997. Prof Lim has also authored an impressive body of books and scientific papers that have been published internationally in peer reviewed journals. He is also currently involved in many research projects and clinical trials in cardiology.


Dr Wu Dar Ching

Dr Wu Dar Ching is a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon and Raffles Heart Centre's Director concurrently with Prof Lim Yean Leng. Dr Wu graduated from the University of Singapore and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He underwent his fellowship at Mayo Clinic under a WHO award.

Dr Wu is a Visiting Consultant at The Heart Institute and Changi General Hospital, and Honorary Consultant to several hospitals in China. He is also the Past Chairman of the Chapter of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine as well as Past President of the Singapore Cardiac Society.


Dr Ng Wai Lin

Dr Ng Wai Lin is a Consultant Cardiologist in Raffles Heart Centre. He completed his Cardiology training in Australia, and is a visiting consultant cardiologist at the National University Hospital.

Dr Ng is trained in most coronary interventional procedures. His area of specialty is in coronary angiograms and arrhythmia device therapy such as permanent pacemakers and implantable cadioverter defibrillators. Dr Ng is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.


Dr Antono Sutandar

Dr Antono Sutandar is a Consultant Cardiologist. He completed medical school with magna cumlaude at the Catholic University Leuven, Belgium and did his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship in United States. Subsequently he completed a fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Columbia College of Physicians, New York and an interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.

Dr Sutandar's goal is to develop the interventional cardiology and invasive cardiac electrophysiology program at Raffles Hospital and to provide services in angioplasty, percutaneous atrial septal defect closures, invasive cardiac electrophysiology testing, radiofrequency ablation and arrhythmia device therapy.

Dr David Wong is a Consultant Spine and Orthopaedic Surgeon. He has a special interest in Artificial Disc Replacement surgery for chronic neck and low back pain, minimally invasive techniques for treating osteoporotic fractures in the elderly, namely Vertebroplasty and Kyphoplasty, revision surgery for failed back surgery and spinal deformities.

Dr Wong was trained as a Spine Fellow at the Queens Medical Center in Nottingham, England. His surgical training there encompass extensive exposure to the treatment of various spinal conditions, including scoliosis, spinal tumours and infections, spinal fractures and degenerative conditions causing neck and back pain. He is also one of the local pioneers of minimally invasive scoliosis surgery. Aside from spine surgery, Dr Wong also continues to manage trauma and general orthopaedic conditions.

Prof Tan was a member of the teams that separated separated the conjoined Ischiopagus Twins and conjoined Korea Twins at Raffles Hospital in 2003.

Prof Tan is an Adjunct Professor of Surgery at the National University of Singapore and the Immediate Past Master of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. He has also been Chief Examiner in Surgery of the Faculty of Medicine at the National University of Singapore, Examiner in Surgery for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK; and Examiner in Surgery for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan. Dr Yang was one of the first few colorectal surgeons in Singapore to perform stapler haemorrhoidectomy (Longo's procedure) and ligasure (bipolar) excision for haemorrhoids. He was also one of the lead surgeons involved in the separation of the Korean ischio-pagus conjoined twins at Raffles Hospital in July 2003.
